How to Setup a Voicemail for DINSTAR IP PBX


  • Voicemail is a key feature for IPPBX. Sometimes, if you lost the call, the call can be forwarded to voicemail. After while, you can receive the voice message and call back to the person who called you. There are few steps you have to go through to set up a voicemail support.
    Since there is a very limited storage resource with UC-120, If you use UC-120 to support voice messages, you have to plugin an external storage such as UDisk (USB hard disc drive/USB flash drive) or SD card to save the voice file.
    By default, the The SIP phone ring timeout is 50 (s), If you want to reduce the ring timeout, you can go to Extension->SIP, edit the Ring Timeout if you want.

    As the diagram shows above, if nobody picks up the call within some certain ring time, the call will be forwarded to voice mail.After then, The system will guide you step by step to leave a voice message. Before making the voice mail working, you have to do config the some setting to let it works.The steps below go through to setup a voicemail support.
    1. Enable email server, go to System->Email to fill in your address of email server and port, and make sure the connection is perfect ready.
    2. Setup DNS, make sure DNS is setup, go to Network->Setting to fill in the DNS server address.
    3. Check storage, make sure you have a valid storage, go to Profile->Voicemail to select a right storage.
    4. Enable the voice mail, go to Extension->SIP, Select voice mail ON, fill the email account you want to receive a voice file.
    5. Check the voice message from Profile-Voicemail->Message list and check your email for the voice file.
